About Dong Nam Coffee Farm

Dong Nam Coffee Farm is located in Di Linh District, Lam Dong Province, an affluent area with a long history of coffee tree cultivation. Because of the favorable natural characteristics of Lam Dong, the Robusta coffee variety may grow vigorously and produce high-quality green coffee beans that capture the spirit of Vietnam's Central Highlands.

To return to the topic, Dong Nam Coffee Farm is a family-run farm founded in 1996.

Mr. Ngo Van Ha, owner of Dong Tam Coffee Farm, and other local farmers alike, used traditional farming practices when they first began their coffee-planting careers.

However, in 2007, Mr. Van Ha had the opportunity to visit Ho Chi Minh City and see how the coffee market was at the time. He realized that to increase the value of his coffee products and provide a stable income for his family and other farmers, he must adapt. Furthermore, Mr. Van Ha understood the necessity of preserving the natural environment and protecting community health, ensuring a more sustainable business.

The year 2017 marks the transition of Dong Nam Coffee Farm from a traditional growing style to an organic one. Mr. Van Ha and his family learned about sustainable farming through a variety of sources, including books, studies, organic coffee-cultivating conferences, training courses, and so on.

Mr. Van Ha and his crew do not stop at theories; he applies that information to his farm and adjusts it based on its present status. Dong Nam Coffee Farm used manure, green manure, and Japanese organic fertilizers instead of synthetic chemicals (fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides).

Furthermore, the crew kept a close eye on the green coffee bean harvesting and processing operations, such as hand-picking ripe coffee cherries, drying them in natural sunlight, and opting for the natural processing method.

Despite initial challenges like a lack of knowledge and a lack of market, Dong Nam Coffee Farm was able to offer its organic green coffee beans to the Vietnam market for the first time in 2019.

Fortunately, things have begun to improve since then.

In the future, Mr. Van Ha intends to enhance the coffee quality higher and offer green coffee beans to foreign markets so that global clients can experience the essence of Vietnam coffee beans.

Staffs of Vietnam Coffee Associtation (VCA) have travelled to Dong Nam Coffee Farm to inspect their farm's conditions and collect the green coffee beans samples:
